Handmade Items

Laminated items are made by wood strips that are glued to make a larger block. The glue joints are actually stronger than the wood itself. We finish with lacquer (on stools, lazy susans, games, etc) or pure mineral oil (on food items) which should be reapplied as needed. Both finishes enhance the natural wood.

All wood items are hand-crafted from walnut, cherry or maple. No stains are used and all joinery is traditional, using time-honored methods. Variations in color and grain pattern are normal reflections of the living wood. The swirls and burls enhance the individuality of each piece.

Sustainable practices are incorporated in all processes of construction.
